Who’s Really in Charge?

29 Dec 09:  “We the People” are supposed to be in charge of the government.  This is not a theoretical concept.  Our legislators are meant to represent “We the People.”  They are to take the people’s will into account in every aspect of their job.  It is obvious that this is not happening!  The Senate and the House have passed health care bills in opposition to the clear will of the people.  Rather than answering a reporter’s question about the Constitutional basis for enacting an individual health insurance mandate, Speaker Nancy Pelosi dismissed the reporter by repeating “Are you serious?” several times, and then went on to the next reporter’s question.  These actions show the arrogance of many in government; they think that they know best, even if the people want something else.  They think that they will not be held accountable for violating the will of the people.

“We the People” can hold them accountable on November 2, 2010 by voting them out!  I know that as the U.S. Representative for the 25th Congressional District I will answer to the people and be accountable for my actions.
