19 Jan 10: The Massachusetts Senate election has shown that the people have rejected what is happening in Washington. The federal government has been “hijacked” by politicians who are working for their own self interests. The people are getting wise to this and want a real change – a change back to basics … a change back to the principles of the U.S. Constitution … a change back to what our Founding Fathers envisioned for our country.
In Washington, I will ensure that all of my decisions and votes are grounded in the Constitution. I want to take a leading role in taking our country back to its roots. I know what public service should be. Public service is not self-service. I will never forget that and will remain accountable to you, the people.
