25 Dec 09:  Christmas is a special day.  I viewed a video today made by an 11-year-old whose family has “adopted” a Wounded Warrior.  The boy made the film to show his appreciation and say “thank you” to the severely wounded Marine and his wife for their service to this country.  He found people in his community, including former Marines, to offer words of encouragement.  The film is a testament of how one person can make a difference in the lives of others.  Each person gave something of value to the Marine couple – a part of themselves.  Their service deeply touched the Marine and his wife, as well as every person who viewed the video.  This was a gift that will “keep on giving.”  A little boy with a big heart – what a winning combination!

Each of us has many opportunities to make a positive difference to those around us.  Our communities will benefit tremendously even if we act on only a few of these opportunities.
